世界的に有名なベース用エフェクター／アンプ・メーカーであるDarkglass Electronicsと共同で設計されたDarkRayは、新しいサウンドの可能性を引き出します。 すべての核となるのはその音色です。このモデルでは、Darkglass ElectronicsがDarkRayのために特別に設計した、モダンな2バンドEQのプリアンプが搭載されています。このプリアンプは、クリーン／アルファ（ディストーション）／オメガ（ファズ）という、非常に個性的で有用なサウンドを持つ3つのモードがあります。どちらのディストーション回路も、オンボードのゲイン・ノブとブレンド・コントロールによって、プレイヤーの好みに合わせて完全にミックスすることが可能です。ロー・エンドを損なうことなく、驚異的なクリーン、わずかなゲイン、残忍なファズ・トーンを得ることができるのです。LEDリングと3ウェイ・レバー・スイッチにより、ベースがどのモードにあるかが表示されます。 ネオジウム・ハムバッキング・ピックアップ、ローステッド・メイプル・ネック、コンフォート・コンタード・ボディ、22ステンレス・フレット、おなじみの4+1ヘッドストック・コンフィギュレーションなど、まさにStingray Specialと呼ぶにふさわしいモデルです。

The DarkRay is equipped with a new modern 2 Band preamp that Darkglass specifically designed. The preamp is extremely clean and quiet with adjustable volume, gain, bass, treble, and blend controls to achieve the desired tone.
The Darkglass preamp offers two highly regarded drive circuits, Alpha(tight distortion) and Omega(fuzz). Both distortion circuits are fully mixable via an onboard gain knob and blend control manipulated to the user’s preference with no low-end loss. Via the 3-way lever switch, a bright color-coded LED ring is illuminated, signifying which mode the bass is in.
The DarkRay bass is every bit a Stingray Special with neodymium humbucking pickup, roasted maple neck, comfort contoured body, 22 stainless steel frets, all black hardware, and the familiar 3+1 headstock configuration.
